Popular Western Sydney venue The Orchard has collapsed just two years after opening its doors after “challenging market conditions” forced directors to call in administrators.
The owners thanked the community for their support as they made announced the administration on their social media platforms on Wednesday.
“We are grateful for the ongoing support of the Penrith community and hope to remain a venue where you can celebrate your special occasions for many years to come,” The Orchard said in a statement.
“It is very much business as usual. Rest assured, we will keep everyone informed as we move forward through this process.”
The Orchard said they remain committed to operating their business at the foot of the mountains, despite having to bring on administrators.
“We are pleased to confirm we remain open and fully operational, with a strong commitment to our long term success,” they said.
“To help guide us through this journey, we have appointed an administrator who will assist in ensuring our continued longevity and stability.”
The restaurant, cafe and garden bar on the banks of the Nepean river is now administrated by Graeme Beattie, from the insolvency firm Worrells.
