Voluntary Administrators appointed to Sydney-based Carconnect

Sydney-based car buying platform Carconnect has entered voluntary administration, appointing Jonathon Colbran and Brett Lord from RSM Australia Partners as Joint and Several Voluntary Administrators on 26 February 2026.

Founded in the early 2000s, Carconnect was one of the first online platforms in the Australian market connecting consumers with dealers. It sought to simplify and tailor the car buying experience.

The administrators have now paused all business activity and intend to shortly commence the process of seeking a buyer for the online business. 

RSM Australia Partner Jonathon Colbran said, “There is inherent value in the business via its unique platform delivery, customer database and dealer network. We believe these will be attractive to the market and we intend to undertake a sale of business process.

“Our priority is to facilitate the best outcome for all stakeholders which involves realising the maximum return for Carconnect’s valuable intellectual property. Any interested parties are encouraged to contact our office to register their interest in the sale process.”
